Dear Patient,
To say it’s been a strange two years would be an understatement! We are excited to write to you with the latest developments at Ellerker Opticians.
We are proud to have remained open throughout the pandemic. There were some quieter times, but Iain put this spare time to good use and gained a higher qualification in optometry, the Professional Certificate in Medical Retina. He has also been working on a project with a consultant at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital to improve the link between opticians and eye specialists in Shropshire.
In addition to gaining new skills and connections, the practice has invested in a new piece of equipment, an Optos Ultra-Wide Field retinal scanner. This state-of-the-art technology gives a superb view and a comprehensive record of the health of your eyes. There is an interesting story behind this technology online at www.optos.com/about/
This new equipment complements the OCT scanner, which we have been using since 2010, to give a hospital-grade assessment of your eyes. These scans form part of our extended eye examination where you can expect extra time and a truly personalised and friendly examination. Private patients receive an extended eye examination as standard, at a fee of £63.
We take your eye health seriously and the extended eye examination allows us to deliver the examination you deserve. If you are entitled to a basic NHS examination then we are delighted to be able to offer our private level of care at a reduced fee of £40.
As always, the whole Ellerker team works hard to find the best solutions for your vision needs. We offer the best quality lenses, and our range of frames has expanded to include boutique brands from Paris and New York to ensure you look as fantastic as you see.
We look forward to welcoming you for your next eye examination when the time comes.
Yours Sincerely,
